1Bakenhus, Elizabeth, Vestal, NY. Letter to Rick Crume, Glyndon, MN., Dated 1997.
"In 17 Mar. 1983, I received McMorris information from Doris McEachron, who was then Town of Argyle Historian in Wash. Co., NY. Later she became the Wash. Co. Historian in Ft. Edward, NY. Included in that information were the names of Mary Jane McCray's parents, William McCray (McCrea) and Barbara Stewart; and that 'James was from Lisburn, Co. Down, 6 mi. from Belfast, Ireland. In 1791, on his 21st birthday, he emigrated to America from Londonderry, on the ship, 'St. James'. Armstrong McMorris, his father, came a few years later and then settled in Del. Co., NY." Another paper from Elizabeth says, "James McMorris came to this country from Lisburn, County Down, Parish Dromore, Townlands Marrabeg, six miles from Belfast, Ireland in the year 1791."
