"Walter Cunningham (c 1714 - 1781). Walter Cunningham and his brother Adam came to Virginia from Shankill Parish, Lurgan, County Armagh, Ireland, about 1740.
Walter purchased land along the South River from James Blair about 1744/5 and was still living on the land in 1770. His property was located near Gooney's [Gawney's] Run and Flint Run. Frederick County court records show that in 1751/2, Philip Crum, William Hurst or William Harrill were to survey and order all tithables on Flint Run and its branches and Gawnys [Gooney's] Run and its branches from Walter Cunningham down to the county line. In June 1773, Philip Groom was appointed to oversee the road from Adam Cunningham's Run to Gooney's Run. So it appears that Walter and Adam settled land in the same vicinity."

"May 22, 1751 Petition for a road from widow Cobren's mill on the South Branch to Patton's Mill on the South Fork. Last Fall the court cent James McKay and RICHARD HARREL to view a road. They accordingly viewed the road to Ruben Pagets and so to keep down the river on the east side of county line. "Philip Groom was appointed overseer of the road from Adam Cunningham's Run to Gooney's Run in room of Zekel Morgan, June 1773. Adam's brother, Walter, settled land on Gooney's Run."

"Sarah Crume the wife of Philip Crume Departed this Life January ye 9th day -----1787 aged 57 & 16 days Discember 25 1786."
Maybe she celebrated her 57th birthday on 25 Dec. 1786 and was 57 years and 16 days old at the time of her death on 9 Jan. 1787. The remaining six days in 1786 (26-31 Dec.) and nine days in 1787 (1-9 Jan.) add up to 15, but that’s pretty close to 16. that would mean Sarah (Withers) Crume was born 25 Dec. 1729, not 1730. I think that calculating her date of birth based on her age when she died is the only documentation I have seen of her date of birth.
